The Indian company Optiemus Electronics Ltd (OEL) formed a strategic manufacturing deal with ASRock Incorporation to make enterprise and gaming desktop motherboards in their Indian facilities. The agreement, which began production in April 2025, will see these Made-in-India motherboards hit the domestic market starting May 2025, addressing the growing demand for IT hardware. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for OEL, expanding its product portfolio in the electronics manufacturing services sector and aligning with India’s burgeoning electronics industry.
The strategic connection enables ASRock to extend its product line within India by using OEL’s state-of-the-art production systems to switch motherboard manufacturing from imports to local operations. Through this strategic collaboration ASRock increases its market strength by using local manufacturing with an Indian EMS partner to produce its products in the country while supporting India's Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. As a result Indian customers gain improved access to products and the initiative advances India’s national self-reliance initiatives.
Ashok Gupta, Executive Chairman, Optiemus Group, expressed eagerness about the partnership, stating, “We are excited to partner with ASRock, which aligns perfectly with our vision of enabling cutting-edge manufacturing capabilities in India. This announcement brings forward our enhanced capabilities of handling highly complex large Printed Circuit Board assembly, including BGA, fine pitch assembly and the ability to deliver precision placement for very small capacitors and resistors, an important consideration for manufacturing complex AI motherboards for telecom industry, high-end desktops and AI powered laptops.”
Gupta further emphasized the broader impact, adding, “We are on the path to meet the growing domestic demand, catering to the export market, creating new employment opportunities and fostering skill development in high-tech manufacturing. Together, we are proud to contribute to the Make-in-India vision and drive innovation in the electronics sector.”
The partnership shows OEL joining forces with ASRock to advance innovation while developing youth careers and technical expertise for high-tech motherboard production in India. OEL leverages automated assembly together with nitrogen reflow systems and positions itself to deliver reliable high-performance motherboards for the Indian domestic market and international export distribution. Through this partnership India improves its electronics production capability as well as advances toward the Make-in-India initiative to drive technology innovation and national economic expansion.
